H&M, Walmart Haul, & Planner Organization

I typically do my laundry on Fridays', or during the weekend. This time I kept putting it off till the next day, and then the next, and so on. So when Monday rolled around I really didn't have much available to choose from when leaving the house to go run some errands. I basically went out in workout shorts, and a white v-neck t-shirt. It's not the first time I've left the house less than stellar. Most of the time it's faster to simply leave the house in whatever you were lounging around in. Sometimes, rare times, I take the time to get ready. My choice of wear on those days is something simple, comfortable, yet put together in a way that says 'I only took 5 minutes to look this good,' even though MAYBE it was a little longer than that. You're running errands though, I don't think that calls for a full out gown, though if that's what you prefer, go for it.

A typical choice for me would be jeans, a tee, a blouse, or button up. Traveling light is a must for me, but at the same time I tend to pack things that will keep me entertained in case I get caught up waiting. A sketch book, my pencil pouch, and my Nook, or book are my go to items. I gravitate towards bigger bags because of this. For footwear, I like to walk everywhere, if possible, and normally I wear my running shoes since they provide enough support for all the waling. However, I'm not opposed to going out to run errands with heels that have a small amount of height to them. As long as I have flats, or shoes in my bag so I can switch them out later if my feet start hurting.

Yesterday I went to Walmart to get some ingredients, and a few other things. Those other things turned out to be a new 2014 planner, color coding labels, and sticky notes. Also stopped by Starbucks for my favorite green tea frappe, and Lee's Sandwiches, for a turkey croissant sandwich.

A couple pics of my new planner. I got that sparkly stretchy band from an ornament and figured it could be used to keep it bound.

The front cover is a frosty clear plastic. The second page is laminated I think.

Yearly overviews, and personal info.

Contacts pages. I don't really need them, so I think I'll be using them for something else.

Month-at-a-glance. I've already got a little red heart for the 14th!

Weekly pages.

A note page, and a list of all holidays.

US map, and timezones. I actually hole punched that plastic bag so I could use it to store stickers and loose memo sheets in my planner.

Some pretty writing paper for notes, or quick memos, or letters. A few stickers I had already, but the color coding labels I bought yesterday.

Sharpie highlighters, and marker. Plus my Paper Mate Ink Joy pens. Love them.

Stickys!

I've tried keeping a planner, it's just never worked for me because I guess I just didn't keep up with it. I tried remembering what I had to do in my head, writing it down in my many notebooks, or sketchbooks, and hopefully I would remember where to look for that info later. That didn't work however, so I decide to give it another go.

My brother had one he'd been using, but replaced with a new one in January, so he gave me his old one. It was perfect timing because I wanted to try it out on something I could practice on, and get an organization system down. I've watched a few videos on Youtube for planner organization, which have helped me out so much with figuring this out and getting it to work for me.

One thing I love is color coding. It's great assigning a color for things in your life. And I've also been using bullet journaling. If you haven't heard about what it is go to bulletjounal.com for more info, or check out some videos on Youtube.

(bought the notebook with the cute little face you see here at Art Supply Warehouse)

I'm actually not working right now, but I'm starting up my own business. I've been working on art these last few months that I plan to sell soon. So anything related to my business will be GREEN, like ordering supplies, which would also be BLUE for tasks, working on the shop design would be GREEN too, but it would also be PURPLE for art. This system is not set in stone. I'm still tweaking things here and there, and changing stuff. It's an ongoing process, but so far it's working. I'm keeping to my planner, except for the day, or two, or more that I miss, but overall I'm much more organized than I was last year.

Some stuff I was working playing around with.

There's Something About Rainy Day Weather

I don't know many people who love rainy days as much as I do. Or at least are willing to go OUT, and enjoy the rain. I love walking through the rain. Running too. Jumping in puddles. Even standing out in the downpour. Like earlier this week. I just stood out in the rain in sweats and a t-shirt, it was late already and I was in my comfy clothing. I know I'm a grown ass adult, but what do I care. When it rains I completely forget about that little fact......This would be something I typically wear on a rainy day.

Exercise Challenge & Floral Print Skirt

January 6 was the start of the 30-Day Squat Challenge. Except, my goal did not end up being 200 squats. Instead it seemed I aimed a little higher. Well, A LOT higher. 1,000 squats. This had not been the original plan. In fact it was completely accidental. I rolled with it though, and yesterday I did indeed reach 1,000. I'm not even going to explain how this happened. However, let me just say that next time I'll make sure to read everything thoroughly, and carefully.

I'm really proud of myself though. My hard work is showing, and I can't tell you how happy that makes me feel because I'm feeling so much better about my body. I love myself, and my body, that's why I'm going to take care of it. Because of that, I've been looking online at clothing shops. Putting together outfits I would love to wear. This is how I would wear this beautiful floral print skirt from H&M.

1. top: H&M // 2. skirt: H&M // 3. necklace: ModCloth // 4. bracelet: ASOS //
5. handbag: ASOS // 6. heels: ASOS // 7. sunglasses: LuLu*s

Today's my rest day. Tomorrow I start a new challenge. Abs! And possibly push ups. Until then, I'm gonna spend some time chilling on my bed and watching TV shows on Netflix. Even fantasizing about some Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Never said I was on a diet~~~~
